As NE RHO Doctor Massaro is responsible for coordination of the clinical public health activities in the ten NE. He is also the Harrison Foundation Professor of Medicine and Law, Emeritus at the University of Virginia (UVA). His education includes engineering degrees from MIT (S.B.), Cornell (M.S.), and the University of California, Berkeley (Ph.D.). His management degree is from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. His medical degree is from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His residency training led to board certification in Pediatrics, Neonatology, and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Massaro has lectured extensively on health care policy, health reform strategy, and change management in the healthcare environment. He has served as an advisor to governments, consulting firms, and major health care organizations. His publications in medical informatics addressing the social and cultural constraints on the introduction of computer technology into the medical setting are well known.
