PC1: Mental Health First Aid  8:00 am-5:00 pm

Sometimes first aid is not putting on a bandage, applying CPR, or calling 911. Sometimes first aid is as simple as offering your support. Learn how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who may be experiencing a mental health concern, substance use challenge, or mental health crisis. This session includes skills to fight the stigma associated with mental illness, an introduction to common mental health challenges youth experience, and a 5-step action plan that allows you to help youth experiencing mental health concerns.

PC2: Enhancing Resilience for Yourself and Those You Serve 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Nearly everyone today is impacted by stress in a significant way. Stress can have a negative impact on health, relationships, and work performance. This session focuses on the science of resiliency and offers practical strategies for learners to be able to respond in more positive and productive ways to challenging environments at work and at home. The 6 principles explored in this session will inspire, empower, and enable learners to Adjust, Recover, and Toughen to people and situations. The session is delivered to also enable learners to be able to take concepts and strategies back to their workplaces for implementation. This session uses a combination of presentation with participant discussion, activities, application, and sharing

PC3: UCSF IUD & Implant Training 8:00 am-4:30 pm
LARC Mentoring Program

Beyond the Pill is working to transform contraceptive care by bringing our evidence-based training on IUDs and implants to healthcare providers and educators throughout the US. These trainings focus on best practices and help women access more effective birth control, while respecting their autonomy in reproductive health decisions.

New School Nurse Orientation 7:30 am-5:15 pm

Open to those who have been a school nurse for less than two years. This training provides an overview of school health laws and regulations, address standards of practice, competencies, and supervisory issues.
