Update 4/15: A Message from H2T

Our Future Plans

Updated 4/3: Head to Toe 2020 Next Steps

Dear Head to Toe attendees,

With the announcement of the closing of schools for the remainder of the year, we revisited our strategies and pivoted our plans for the conference.   First, we will be issuing refunds to all paid registrants.  These will begin flowing out of our office in the next 30 – 45 days, beginning with individuals who paid by personal check, then credit card payments and finally payments by organization check.

So what does the future hold?

  1. We are excited to announce a new product, H2T365, officially launching in the fall.  We are working with our presenters to offer online presentations which will be recorded and housed in a web-based library for you to access 365 days of the year! Sessions will be approved for continuing education for nurses, counselors, social workers and more.
  2. We are planning to host a mini-H2T on September 29, 2020 in conjunction with the American School Health Association Conference (ASHA) coming to Albuquerque on September 30 – October 1, 2020.  This will be an opportunity to network and learn face-to-face with your Head to Toe family and, if you chose to stay a day or two longer, attend a national school health conference.

You will be invited to attend the remote presentations via the email you provided when you registered for H2T 2020 and through our Facebook page.  Please remember to provide us with an alternate email address if you are not checking your work address, as the live presentations will begin in the next few weeks and continue through the fall. Email your address to

While we are all very disappointed that Head to Toe in its original form will not be happening, we are very excited about the new opportunities ahead of us. It is important to the Office of School and Adolescent Health that we continue to nurture our school health community and be a valuable resource to help you continue to improve the health and academic success of our students.

Stay healthy!

Updated 3/13: Don’t cancel your registration quite yet! – We have something up our sleeves…

It is with deep sadness that we are sending this email to inform you that the New Mexico Department of Health, Office of School and Adolescent Health will not be holding the Head to Toe conference on April 15 & 16, 2020.  Although the world seems topsy-turvy right now, we recognize the importance of ensuring our providers continue to have access to information that helps them improve the health and academic success of our students and access to continuing education to maintain their licensure.

So, although a physical presence in April is no longer a possibility, we will not “go gently into the night.”  We are working to redesign the conference, keeping the same Head to Toe spirit and comradery that you have come to expect.  This will consist of virtual and recorded presentations with the possibility of a face-to-face event of some type in the fall, once hand-shakes and fist-bumps are back.

So, what’s next?

  1. If you reserved a room at the DoubleTree, or any other hotel, please make arrangements to cancel your reservation.  The number for the DoubleTree is (505) 247-3344.  If you are having difficulty getting through, you may email Regardless of whether you call or email, be sure to get a cancellation confirmation for your records.
  2.  Please do not cancel your registration.  At this juncture, our standard cancellation policy is still in place.  Please, see what we are planning before you pull out.  We promise we will ensure you receive your return on investment and promise to revisit this policy in the future as necessary.
  3. If you won’t be checking your work email over the next three weeks, please provide us with an alternate email address.  You can do this by a) logging into the registration system selecting “Modify Registration and adding your alternate email to your registration or b) emailing and providing us your name, alternate email, and your cell phone number (optional) if you would like to receive text alerts.

We will be moving fast and furiously to finalize our plans, so please check your emails, the conference website, or our Facebook page ( for updates.   Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.  This too shall pass … stay healthy, keep calm, and wash your hands!

Virtual Conference FAQs

Yes! Our providers have approved CEUs for our virtual conference. Due to the nature of virtual learning, you will be able to exceed the amount of CEUs you'd normally receive onsite at Head to Toe. This covers CEUs for nurses, counselors, social workers, behavioral health providers, and community health workers. For more information regarding the amounts and cultural options, please go to the Continuing Education Credits page.

We are trying to take advantage of your mandated self-isolation and are working with our presenters to coordinate the time frame of the virtual conference. Any presentation that we are given permission to record will be on demand for an extended period of time.

We understand your concerns. At this point, we are working to mitigate the challenges of our clients cancelling and rescheduling events. We request that you do not cancel until you are fully informed of our alternate plans to deliver the quality education that Head to Toe offers.
