Mike Rose

Mr. Rose has more than 30 combined years experience in environmental safety and health, hazardous materials management, emergency preparedness, response, and recovery, having worked for such companies as Ashland Chemical, Intel Corporation and Rinchem, LLC.  His skills include field analytical investigations, analytical data interpretation, and chemical characterization and first responder.

Mr. Rose has invested more than 15 of those years in environmental safety and health (ES&H) as a health and safety coordinator for Sandia National Laboratories. His customers included the US Department of Energy, US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, US Department of Defense, and the US Bureau of Prisons, in addition to several allied Countries. In addition to implementing safety programs with his customers, Mr. Rose was responsible for policy compliance, staff training coordination and critical infrastructure management.

As a certified homeland security specialist and a FEMA professional continuity planner, Mr. Rose has been with the New Mexico Department of Health, Bureau of Health Emergency Management for over eight years as the emergency preparedness specialist for the Northwest public health region. In this capacity, Mr. Rose is responsible for the development and promotion of regionalization efforts of the Emergency Preparedness System; and the planning, preparation and response to public health emergencies including medical countermeasure response.

As the regional cities readiness initiative (CRI) Coordinator, Mr. Rose performs highly advanced consultative work in the implementation at the local level of the statewide Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) plan; collaborates with the State SNS Coordinator to ensure that local response plans are developed within the scope of the CRI in a coordinated and integrated manner. Mr. Rose provides technical assistance and advanced consultative services for jurisdictions within the Northwest Public Health Region in development of local response plans.

Mr. Rose served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserve. Mr. Rose is a Sandia National Laboratories President’s Quality Award Recipient; Albuquerque Mayor’s Office of Volunteer Engagement (MOVE) Award Recipient; a Presidential Volunteer Service Gold Award Recipient and Presidential Volunteer Service Life Achievement Award Recipient.
