Kimberly Payne MA, LMHC
Session #26

As a therapist, Kimberly believes that the people that she helps each have a unique story to tell. Through the therapeutic process, the individual can open up to their own life story and begin to understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors have been impacted. It is her goal to help the people she works with to understand their anxiety, depression, and other emotional struggles so that they can find peace in their lives. She considers my approach to be eclectic and believe sin working as a team to help empower clients to have the lasting change that they desire.

Before pursuing counseling, in my undergraduate career, Kim assisted research studies through the University of New Mexico, the MIND Institute, and the Center for Alcohol, Substance Abuse, and Addiction. She graduated with her master of arts degree in mental health counseling from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. Prior to working at EDTC, she worked with families, couples, and helped with a psycho-educational parent support group. Kim spent my internship working at the Eating Disorder Treatment Center of Albuquerque where she worked with adolescents and adults in both an individual setting and in Intensive Outpatient care.
