Native to New Mexico, Monique has 30 years experience in health care that began with licensed practical nursing training while in high school at the Career Enrichment Center that led to progression through registered nursing, family nurse practitioner, and doctoral training. She has expertise in evidence-based advanced clinical practice and fellowship training with adolescent populations. She is a clinician working exclusively with adolescent populations that include school based health, and is a research fellow supported by the National Institutes of Health. In her research role, she leads three research teams in the development of medical protocols and supervises medical providers on the research projects that target health promotion in adolescent populations in New Mexico in the areas of obesity, sexually transmitted infections, and asthma.
