Melani Buchanan Farmer
Session #12

Melani Buchanan Farmer is a Native New Mexican. She studied Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and Multicultural Education at UNM. Melani completed her PhD at CIIS, graduating with a degree in Transformative Studies, with an emphasis on Adolescent Wellness. She proceeded to work in the Albuquerque Public Schools for 18 years, while also establishing the non profit Running 505; a holistic wellness program for kids in the 5th through 8th grades. Passionate about education, she moved onto higher education and is currently at NMHU as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Education and Director of AP New Mexico and currently APS Employee Wellness Coordinator. In Melani’s spare time she enjoys being with her teenage son, family and friends while hiking, running, camping, traveling to places near and far, and watching movies. She is grateful for amazing opportunities that cross her path, learning from others to further knowledge of self, education, wellness, and our communities. @Running505 @MelbFarmer
