A Native of New Mexico and certified Emergency Manager currently works
for the New Mexico Department of Health as the State Strategic National
Stockpile and Medical Countermeasures Coordinator.
His responsibilities include developing and maintaining public health
emergency preparedness with federal, state, local, and tribal emergency
management agencies, businesses, schools, hospitals, governmental and
non-governmental organizations. He provides technical expertise and
assistance in the development of medical countermeasure, mass
vaccination and dispensing plans. His primary responsibility is to ensure
that federal medical assets are made available to state and local
jurisdictions in response to public health and other disaster situations.
John has 30 years of experience in pre-hospital emergency response,
hospital and clinical services and fire suppression and 12 years of
experience in emergency and disaster management and response. His
education, training, and experience include emergency management,
incident command and bio-terrorism response.
