Gilbert Ramirez

Gilbert A. Ramirez, LCSW, is currently the Director of Student Support for Health Leadership High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His work includes 13 years as a school social worker for the Albuquerque Public School District, clinical consultant for the New Mexico Young Fathers Project, and is an associate professor for New Mexico Highlands University School of Social Work in Albuquerque. He specializes in adolescent therapeutic services, providing services to students in Special Education and has extensive training specialized in gang-involved male youth as well as young fathers. His achievements include three publications through Oxford University Press. His most recent work led to a three-year Community Leadership Fellowship through the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. He has dedicated his professional career to the support and advancement of adolescent youth supports through school-based interventions and advocacy work around the public school reform movement in New Mexico.
