A native californian, Dr. Dehority graduated with a B.S. from the University of California at San Diego, and later obtained his M.D. degree from the University of California at San Francisco. This was followed by post-graduate training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of New Mexico (UNM), and the University of California at San Diego. He has been faculty in the Department of Pediatrics (division of Infectious Diseases) since 2008. He is Co-chair of the Immunization Practice Advisory Committee of New Mexico and the University of New Mexico Human Research Review Committee. In addition to teaching Infectious Diseases at UNM, he also teaches Evidence-Based Medicine at the University of New Mexico and McMaster University in Canada. His research focuses on host-pathogen relationships in bone and joint infections. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 daughters.
