Tonna Burgos
Session #39

Tonna Burgos has been the executive director of Student Services for Rio Rancho Public Schools for eight years. She oversees numerous areas, including counselors, nurses, discipline, due process hearings, legal issues, impact youth mentoring program, Title IX Coordinator, and parent concerns/complaints. She has been working in education for over 18 years and has a bachelor of science in education (elementary education), master of arts (secondary education), and education specialist (Ed.S) in educational administration. Her previous experience includes teaching at the middle school level where she taught math and science, serving as assistant principal at an elementary and middle school, and as principal of an elementary school. She currently is a part of the Sandoval County Juvenile Justice Board for Sandoval County, the state-appointed Joint Education Task Force which was created in December 2012 in order to effectively meet the needs of high-risk children and youth in the child welfare, juvenile justice and education systems, and a board member for the Storehouse West in Rio Rancho, NM.
